From First to Last have joined the bill for next year's Take Action! Tour, which kicks off in February. Every Time I Die are still set to co-headline, although the other previously announced co-headliner, Escape the Fate , have dropped off the lineup. Hopeless/Sub City, which stages the fest, also announced that it has picked Do Something, a nonprofit that distributes weekly grants to young people looking to make a difference in their community, as the tour's charity. Dave Wedge of BostonHerald.com reports: Grammy -nominated GODSMACK frontman Sully Erna and a guitar hero pal partied with a Tyngsboro, Massachusetts woman just days before she was allegedly slashed to death by her jealous husband, and both rockers have been questioned as part of the murder probe, the Herald has learned. Erna , lead singer of the multi-platinum Bay State metal band, recently met Christine McGee and hung out with her and others on at least three occasions in the days leading up to her savage murder last week, according to Erna 's manager, Paul Geary ."She was pretty enamored with the whole thing. She was at his house and couldn't believe she was hanging around Sully ," Geary said. "She was kind of like star-struck."
But Geary said Erna was not romantically involved with the 31-year-old McGee , and that the rocker met her through his musician pal Gary Hoey .

Michael Jackson 's Thriller, the best-selling album of all time, is getting big love in time for Valentine's Day. In celebration of the release's 25th anniversary, Epic/Legacy is revisiting it with a deluxe edition containing unreleased bonus tracks mixed by or featuring Kanye West , Akon , Will.I.Am and Jackson himself. Thriller was originally released November 30, 1982, and the new 25th Anniversary Edition, dropping February 12, will have eight extra cuts: a fresh Kanye remix of "Billie Jean"; Akon and Will.I.Am's new take on "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' "; "The Girl Is Mine" and "P.Y.T." remixes by Will.I.Am; the rare unissued song "For All Time," a track from the original recording sessions that has been newly mixed and mastered by MJ; "Someone in the Dark"; "Carousel"; and the original "Billie Jean" demo. The set will also house a DVD with Jackson's Thriller short films, which have been digitally remastered "Thriller," "Beat It" and "Billie Jean" as well as his Emmy-nominated performance of the latter song on 1983's "Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever" TV special. Lastly, it will also have an exclusive Jackson-penned greeting to his fans. While the Thriller deluxe edition doesn't drop until February, the Jackson action actually starts in December when he releases a new single and launches a new global-marketing campaign.

Behind The Delay : Nintendo fans had good reason to expect something to be delayed on the Wii this year. Nintendo has regularly delayed major titles, including several "Zelda" and "Mario" blockbusters-in-the-making. So is it a shock that early-2007 promises to release a new "Metroid," "Mario" and "Smash" all within the year didn't come true? In October, on the day the "Smash" delay was announced, Nintendo Vice President of Marketing & Corporate Affairs Perrin Kaplan told MTV News, "We realize people see it as a delay, but we see it is a little bit of a perfection program to make sure the game is absolutely as perfect as Japan knows it can be and it will." Since then, the regular updates on the "Smash" blog have noted a dizzying barrage of details, from the unexpected spectator mode that will allow players to watch and fake-bet on "Smash" matches all day long to the seemingly inconsequential confirmation that the colors of characters' outfits can be switched.

Former 3 INCHES OF BLOOD drummer Alexei Rodriguez has issued an "open letter of apology" regarding an incident that occurred earlier in the month at the Hard Rock Hell festival in Minehead, UK which left SAXON drummer Nigel Glockler with broken glasses and a black eye.
Rodriguez 's "open letter" reads as follows:
"To my friends, fans, and the greater metal/musical communities at large;
"It is with a significant degree of humility that I write to express my sincere regret at the events in Minehead during this year's Hard Rock Hell festival in England. I in no way am writing this in an attempt to exonerate myself from the blame of having instigated a truly ugly situation, merely to let any who care to know where exactly it is that I stand after said fiasco, and to of course apologize to any and all who were hurt, disappointed, or put out in any way."I have already issued lengthy and sincere apologies to those most directly affected, and while it is those folks' prerogative if they care to make those statements public, they were indeed only intended for their original recipients: Nigel Glockler , and the members and management of 3 INCHES OF BLOOD . Of course the band was embarrassed and did whatever damage control had to be done by expelling me, and to a certain degree the security guards that evening were also doing what they felt had to be done to contain an explosive situation, and for them I would hold no ill will. In fact, Nigel accepted my apology and correspondence with an astonishing degree of forgiveness and compassion, and I should be so lucky as to henceforth be able to refer to him as a friend, however backward the circumstances of our meeting. I wish him, his lovely girlfriend Gina , and SAXON nothing but the best in their lives, both musical and personal. I only hope that everyone else can be as non-vindictive and adult about the whole mess. (PS, don't bother him anymore; he's expressed quite clearly that he wishes not to discuss it further.)

Radiohead have announced their tour plans for 2008, but if you're expecting a traditional itinerary ... well, then you really don't know Radiohead. The band has started sketching out cities and dates for next year on its Web site, but the info is only complete for three shows and tickets are on sale for all of them: June 18 in Milan, Italy; June 20 at Germany's Hurricane Festival; and June 22 at the same country's Southside Festival. The band is also booked for Denmark's Roskilde festival and Belgium's Rock Werchter Festival, both of which will be held July 3-6. Paris; Barcelona, Spain; Dublin, Ireland; London; Berlin and other major European cities are also on the menu.

Christian Bale (The Dark Knight, Batman Begins) has been cast as John Connor in Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins, says Ain't It Cool News. McG is directing the summer 2009 release, which has an early 2008 production start and seeks to reinvent the cyborg saga with a storyline to be told over a three-movie span. Warner Bros. will distribute domestically. The screenplay was written by Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines duo John Brancato and Michael Ferris. The film is set in the future, in a full-scale war between Skynet and humankind.

It's not using any of the normal superhero movie formats. It's not an origin story. It's more like a regular action movie.' [But] they really liked it and told us to go for it." "Grand Theft Auto IV" (PS3, Xbox 360)

Now Slated For : February-April 2008 Behind The Delay : "GTA" games have never slipped from their release dates until this one. The maverick developers at Rockstar Games, who somehow managed to create "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City" just one year after the creation of 2001's "Grand Theft Auto III," had three years to get from the PS2's "San Andreas" to the PS3/ Xbox 360 installment called "IV." But in August, the game was bounced to early 2008 due to "technical issues." Reporters who had seen the game in motion said it was coming along well but clearly needed more time. When the delay was announced , Strauss Zelnick, CEO of "GTA" publisher Take Two Interactive, told investors: "The technology that we're developing for 'Grand Theft Auto IV' is pretty complex. It's a big game. There are technical challenges across the board on both PS3 and 360. Our intention is to create a game that is the same experience on both 360 and PS3. I know that there have been rumors in the market about frame-rate and some other issues. We don't think it's helpful or beneficial to go into what the technological issues are. We are pushing the envelope on both platforms." Take Two and Rockstar have been quiet about the game ever since, only breaking their silence recently to reaffirm the estimated time frame for the game's release but not to mention any new features.

Rob Zombie sat down with Bloody-Disgusting.com for an update on all his current projects, including the upcoming DVD of his recent hit remake of "Halloween" . Zombie said the package will contain his "unrated" longer cut of the movie, loads of deleted scenes, documentaries and other bonus features. One thing it will not include, however, is the "workprint" version of the movie that leaked online prior to its theatrical release. Zombie said, "I don't know what this bullshit workprint is. Something got online which I never saw...the version from the day that someone decided to steal the movie and put it online is one of the 300 versions we were cutting. So I don't know what that is, but the one on the unrated DVD is not that."
Zombie also confirmed that recent rumors about him directing a remake of Eighties horror film "C.H.U.D." were "100% false," and that his "adult" cartoon, "The Haunted World of El Superbeasto" , will be completed in February when he finishes his current tour with OZZY OSBOURNE .
Zombie has not announced what his next live-action feature will be, although he has said it will "not be a horror film."

Carson Daly is going it alone. The host of "Last Call With Carson Daly" has announced that he will be the first late-night talker to go back on the air since the writers' strike started on November 5. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Daly is expected to start taping new episodes this week and will begin airing them next week.

Lily Allen has announced that she was diagnosed with a heart murmur three months ago, BBC News reports. The 22-year-old told Grazia magazine that she found out about the condition when she recently switched doctors and that her recent 19-pound weight loss was a result of exercise and a diet change following the discovery. "I used to love nothing more than sitting in front of the telly with two packets of Ginger Nuts and two bags of milk-bottle sweets and I'd devour the lot," Allen told the magazine. "But this heart thing has made me cut back on all that kind of crap," she said. "I now find that, because I am looking after myself, I don't feel like eating the bad stuff so much."
With Army of Anyone on hiatus, singer Richard Patrick has revived his former band Filter . A new album is in the works and could be in stores early next year, he announced on his MySpace page. "I am totally cramming on a new Filter record," he said. "I'm working with some amazing people all new people. This is absolutely the most amazing stuff I've ever done, and I'm really proud of it."

On MySpace.com the nation's most trafficked website as they relate to the comic book industry, most specifically with publishers and creators. In our ongoing effort to deliver to the world the premier online comics magazine, this new monthly feature endeavors to share our findings, chat with newsmakers and explore profile movement - be it up, down or sideways. Compared to the October rankings , there hasn't been a lot of movement in the Top 10 list of publishers, but a quick look at the list for November sees Dark Horse Comics still riding high at No. 1 with an impressive 47,263 friends, by far the biggest jump amongst companies over the past month, with 6,506 new adds. But will they be able to maintain that position and momentum in the coming months? Was the huge amount of new adds due to finally approving a backlog of friend requests, or has the success of MySpace Dark Horse Presents fueled greater interest in the Dark Horse profile? We'll have a clearer picture next month. Also moving and shaking this week is Virgin Comics, as its 2,725 new adds have landed Richard Branson and Deepak Chopra's comic company in seventh place. Another big shift is DC Comics moving into No. 5, slipping by Top Cow by the tiny margin of 517 friends. Coupled with its DC Nation page, DC Comics actually boasts 30,402 super friends, which would place the publisher third behind Dark Horse and Marvel and ahead of TOKYPOP, currently third with 18,754 friends.Noticeably absent from the Top 10 are Dynamite Entertainment and Image Comics. While McFarlane Companies has 7,290 friends, placing it ninth in the current rankings, the official Image Comics profile has just 3,221. For Dynamite, Director of Marketing Joe Rybandt told CBR News the company has plans for a launch of a brand new MySpace page next year. "We actually do have a page, but it is not actively promoted currently," explained Rybandt. "We should be up and active with content and promotion just over the rise in 2008."

The untimely death of Hawthorne Heights guitarist Casey Calvert. This happened in Washington, DC on Saturday. The band posted this statement: " Today is probably the worst day ever. It's with our deepest regrets that we have to write this. Casey Calvert passed away in his sleep last night. We found out this afternoon before sound-check. We've spent the entire day trying to come to grips with this and figure out as much as possible. At this time we're not sure what exactly happened. Just last night he was joking around with everyone before he went to bed. We can say with absolute certainty that he was not doing anything illegal. Please, out of respect to Casey and his family, don't contribute or succumb to any gossip you may hear. We don't want his memory to be tainted in the least. Casey was our best friend. He was quirky and awesome and there will truly be no others like him! His loss is unexplainable. As soon as we know more we will let you know."
The mystery surrounding albumsix.com just keeps growing. The site, believed by many to be a stealth Weezer affair, was under scrutiny again, when the band posted on its official Web site last week that they have no affiliation with it or any news it purports to have. Weezer also disputed the site's claims that the next album would be called Tout Ensemble and that it already has an official release date. According to a post on albumsix, "Weezer and Geffen Records have no affiliation with www.albumsix.com. ... We are honestly surprised how long this lasted. We expected that the media would contact Interscope or Weezer, and they would squash things immediately. But somehow, we slipped through the traditions of journalism. ... We never expected anyone to believe it. We thought we'd get a few Weezer fans on the boards to get excited, but we never actually thought we'd become a legitimate news source. We can't say we blame the media. Viral marketing is the hot new thing. However, we hoped you learned a lesson. ... We are extremely excited about the new Weezer album and are glad to see that everyone seems to share our excitement. We will be anxiously awaiting the real release date and title of album six along with everybody else. Until then, thanks for playing." Weezer offered a "well played" to the people behind the site and noted that the release date for the Rivers Cuomo demo album, Alone, has been pushed back a week to December 18.

Michael Politz of The Vegas Eye reports that QUIET RIOT frontman Kevin DuBrow was found dead in his Las Vegas home on Sunday, November 25. According to Politz , DubRow whom Politz calls "one of my closest friends" recently celebrated his 52nd birthday in New Orleans "where he ate great food and even caught THE CULT at The House of Blues." QUIET RIOT drummer Frankie Banali has confirmed the passing of the group's singer, Kevin DuBrow , at the age of 52. In an e-mail to Spain's The Metal Circus , which had requested a comment from Banali on the rumors of DuBrow 's death, the drummer wrote, "I can't even find words to say. Please respect my privacy as I mourn the passing and honor the memory of my dearest friend Kevin DuBrow ."

It's the latest crime trend in Lauderhill, Local 10's Sasha Andrade reported, but what might surprise you is who the culprits are. Lauderhill police said video games and everything associated with them are constantly being stolen especially during the holidays. "It's unfortunate because a crime like that is devastating to a family, but it happens on a regular basis," said Lauderhill police Lt. Mike Cochran. Cochran said the crooks are often kids who come over to play the games with their friends. "They'll either come back and break into your home or they'll leave a door unlocked and come back into your home, and then the games disappear," said Cochran. Police encourage parents to know all of the children who come in and out of the house. Find out where they live and who their parents are. Before a group of children leaves the home, check and make sure every item is accounted for. Finally, check to make sure every door and window of the home is locked after they come over.

The track list for Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo 's forthcoming solo album, Alone The Home Records of Rivers Cuomo, has been revealed. The album, due out December 18, will boast 17 tracks, including an early version of the band's 1995 hit "Buddy Holly," as well as the songs "Who You Callin' Bitchh?," "Dude We're Finally Landing," and "I Wish You Had an Axe Guitar." According to the Florida Times-Union, former Lynyrd Skynyrd drummer Artimus Pyle was arrested in St. John's County, Florida, on Monday, charged with failure to properly register as a sex offender. The 59-year-old, whose real name is Thomas Delmer Pyle, lives in Asheville, North Carolina. He was released from police custody Tuesday on $10,000 bail. Pyle pleaded guilty in 1993 to charges of attempted capital sexual battery by an adult on a victim younger than 12 and principal to lewd and lascivious on a child younger than 16. He was sentenced to eight years of probation and designated as a sex offender. His latest arrest stems from his recent attempt to renew his driver's license in Florida. Police claim he failed to register as a sex offender in Florida, which state law mandates, and detectives claim he has not lived at the address provided on his license renewal application for many years.

According to Gigwise.com , the QUEENS have met with Hollywood studio execs about the project and have brought in a designer and potential director to work on it. A source said, "It's going to be the new SpongeBob SquarePants or Ren And Stimpy ."
David R. Ellis is coming back to New Line for more death. The director has signed to direct and develop "Final Destination 4," the latest installment of New Line's popular horror series, which the studio plans to shoot in 3-D.The premise of the series is that even if you cheat death once, a force that is death itself will stalk you until it finishes what is started, usually in a gruesome fashion. While plot details for "FD4" are being kept under wraps, the movie will stand alone: It will feature new teens facing new forms of death. The script was written by Eric Bress, who co-wrote "Final Destination 2." Ellis directed the second installment, which was praised for its elaborately orchestrated killings. New Line's Richard Brener and Walter Hamada are overseeing the project, which has no start date. The "Final Destination" films have been solid performers for New Line since they debuted in 2000. The first film grossed $53.3 million, the 2003 sequel made $46.5 million and the third, released in 2006, collected $54 million. The movies usually are made for at least half that and do well on home video. Ellis' credits include "Cellular" and "Snakes on a Plane" for New Line. He also is known for his second unit directing, having worked on such films as "Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World" and "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone." He is in post on the thriller "Asylum" for Hide Park.

The MTV game, which offers a score-based four-instrument karaoke experience for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, was developed by Harmonix, makers of the first two "Guitar Hero" games. And appropriately enough, it launched at the MTV store in New York's Times Square, where a handful of fans snatched up their bundled video game guitar, drums, mic and disc. But the real crowds gathered a couple of mountain ranges away in a Los Angeles Best Buy. That's where Hellanor Brozevelt, a not-so-real four-man band that won the game's official prerelease championship tour in New York, played the Ramones' "Blitzkrieg Bop" and Faith No More's "Epic" to help hype the game's West Coast launch. "We're the first fake band to play coast-to-coast shows," Brozevelt pseudo-guitarist Freddie Wong told MTV News. The Seattle-based Wong won the "Guitar Hero II" championship at the World Series of Video Games earlier in the year. Since then he and his friends discovered "Rock Band." They played it at the E for All Gaming convention. "The first time we did it, [drummer] Bobby Ray here broke the bass pedal and I broke the strap on the guitar. And I'm like, 'That's it, we know we got it.' " The band's performance "impressed some bigwigs up top" at MTV, according to Wong, and landed his act a face-off on "TRL" two weeks ago. Winning that competition earned them the gig at Best Buy. "We're going to be rocking the faces off of every single nerd who's out here wanting to buy the game at midnight," Wong said. "Literally halves of dozens of people will be here," added singer Brian Firenzi. Actually, approximately 100 people showed up to buy copies of the game. "Rock Band" is now available in the U.S. for PS3 and Xbox 360. A PS2 version will launch on December 20, which is also the game's release date in Canada

On Tuesday (November 20), Nine Inch Nails released their Y34RZ3R0R3M1X3D set, the last NIN album released by Interscope Records (fulfilling the band's contractual commitments to the label). In conjunction with the release, Trent Reznor was to launch the Web site Remix.NIN.com so fans could use the DVD-ROM contained within the LP boasting all the source material in multi-track format to do their own remixes of the songs, with Reznor's blessing. But when visitors reach the site, they'll find an image of an old man wearing glasses with $20 bills tucked behind each lens. In an essay on the site titled "Copyright Fun," Reznor explains the situation. He claims he was contacted over the weekend by Interscope, which owns the band's master files, and told the site wouldn't be happening. "Universal feels that if they host our remix site, they will be opening themselves up to the accusation that they are sponsoring the same technical violation of copyright they are suing companies [like YouTube and MySpace] for. Their premise is that if any fan decides to remix one of my masters with material Universal doesn't own a 'mash-up,' a sample, whatever and upload it to the site, they will be doing exactly what MySpace and YouTube are doing." The label said it would not host the remix site, insisting that the band host it, shifting the liability to Reznor. "We are challenged at the last second to find a way of bringing this idea to life without getting splashed by the urine as these media companies piss all over each other's feet," Reznor wrote. "We have a cool and innovative site ready to launch but we're currently scratching our heads as to how to proceed."

Who didn't see this one coming? The Red Hot Chili Peppers filed a lawsuit on Monday against Showtime Networks over the name of the David Duchovny series "Californication," which also happens to be the name of the band's 1999 album and hit single.
Former Iced Earth guitarist Ernie Carletti was convicted Monday of kidnapping and rape, stemming from his abduction of a University of Delaware student back in 2003. According to AP, a Superior Court jury in Wilmington, Delaware, found the 32-year-old musician guilty on two counts of first-degree rape and one count of first-degree kidnapping; he was acquitted on a related weapons charge. Carletti admitted to abducting the student, shackling her arms and legs, and then hog-tying her at his Maryland home until she began crying. During the trial, he testified that he did not have a gun and did not rape the woman. "Maybe I wasn't thinking clearly," he said. "It was just part of the effect. I didn't say she wanted it, but she did not deny it." The victim testified last week that she was waiting for a ride in nearby Newark, Delaware, when a stranger forced her into his car at gunpoint. She was handcuffed, shackled and blindfolded, then was driven to the man's home. After she was raped, she was driven back to Newark and left tied and blindfolded on West Main Street. Carletti's fingerprints were discovered on duct tape used to bind the woman; he faces separate charges in an alleged sexual assault that occurred while he was in high school. He faces up to two life prison terms. His sentencing date has not been announced.

Bullet for My Valentine have set a January 29 release date for Scream Aim Fire, the forthcoming follow-up to 2006's The Poison. 'Phoenix Wright' Sends Gamers To Court. If you like courtroom drama, there are many movies you can watch and quite a few versions of "Law and Order" on TV. But if you like the spectacle of lawyers arguing and witnesses cracking under pressure and like video games, you've had very limited options: the poorly reviewed "Law and Order" computer-game series and the cartoonish "Phoenix Wright" series on Nintendo DS. How did an entertainment field full of legal drama produce so few legal-drama video games? With the release of the new "Phoenix Wright" game, "Trials and Tribulations," last week, series producer Minae Matsukawa offered her theories about the lack of lawyer games and explained just how the "Phoenix Wright" series came to be and why the key to the whole thing is a lot of lying. "To be honest I'm not sure the base idea of a law game is inherently interesting on its own to most people," Matsukawa said in an e-mail interview with GameFile, "although I really can't speak for the rest of the team." She stated this despite the growing popularity of the "PW" series, which has had four installments in Japan, first three of which are now available in the U.S.; and despite the fact that the series' publisher, Capcom, is also working on a game based on the cartoon "Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law." But perhaps even the producer of "Phoenix Wright" isn't sure about the popularity of courtroom games because "PW" wasn't a courtroom game initially. "The original director and creator, Mr. Shuu Takumi, had wanted to make a game where the player would find the lies and contradictions in statements when he set out to make the first [Game Boy Advance] 'Gyakuten Saiban' ['Ace Attorney'] game," Matsukawa said. "And it was from that single gameplay concept that he realized the perfect setting would be in the courtroom, or so I've heard." That simple concept of lies and contradictions led the designers to invent their own legal system that has defense attorney Phoenix Wright badgering a series of witnesses in order to convince a judge that his client is innocent. He also can present any evidence he finds at the crime scene and put a halt to the proceedings at just about any time by yelling, "Objection!" Wright's court operates like no court on earth, though Matsukawa said Japanese reporters often ask if it's based on American courts. For the record, there are people associated with the American legal system who approve of the game. Matsukawa said a teen approached her at the San Diego Comic-Con two years ago to say that his father, a lawyer, was excited about the series. And earlier this year, at Comic-Con again, she was approached by a law professor. "He told me that as an educator of lawyers-to-be, he highly recommended the 'Ace Attorney' games to his students." While the "Phoenix Wright" games are known for their colorful, ridiculous cast of angry old women, goofy nerds and vain movie stars, Matsukawa said the development process doesn't start with drafting them but with crafting lies. He explained: "The game starts out as a collection of ideas and concepts, such as, 'Let's use this trick,' 'This is where the contradiction should be,' 'We should betray the player here' or 'Let's put a misleading lie here,' and is centered on the idea of the case. The team then uses these ideas to construct an outline of the cases." Then the characters are added along with most of the humor, which Matsukawa said is usually written in the second draft of the development team's three-stage writing process. While the designers really push the writing of their games Matsukawa even describes the games as, at "their most basic, text dialogue pieces" the actual gameplay of the "Phoenix" games is limited. In the courtroom parts of the game, players watch the case unfold, choosing only when to press a witness for more information, to object or to present evidence. They don't choose who to question, how to phrase Phoenix's statements or even explain why they've chosen to present the evidence they select. While the games are well-reviewed, some critics have complained that players can go through these games using guesswork and the process of elimination. Matsukawa said such feedback is common. The obstacles to making the game more difficult, however, are formidable. She said the team would have to write three to five times as much text. More importantly, they would have to radically change the games' formula. "We wouldn't be able to tell a single story anymore if there were too many paths. Also, what we want the players to enjoy is not so much the solving of each riddle they come across one at a time, but rather, the ability to use their logic to put together what happened as they collect the pieces of the larger puzzle, as it were, and that's something that we feel is an important aspect of the game." So far, the "Phoenix Wright" series now curiously called the "Ace Attorney" series by its creators is sticking to tradition. There's just one upheaval coming: The new "PW" game closes an initial trilogy in the series. "Trials and Tribulations" is the third title on the DS in America all three appeared on the Game Boy Advance in Japan. "The ending of 'Trials and Tribulations' is the climax and culmination of the Phoenix arc," Matsukawa said. "So it has even more mysteries and puzzles to figure out than its predecessors. There may be times when [players] may feel frustrated, or think they have no chance of winning, but 'Ace Attorney' games are always about happy endings, so I hope players will be able to enjoy it in the end." "Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations" is currently available on the Nintendo DS. The next game in the series which is the first initially designed for the DS system is set for release in the U.S. next year.11.15.2007

A seller claims to have gotten hold of four original, signed drawings the late NIRVANA frontman made in high school, and he's selling them for $10,000 each, according to Harp magazine. The classified ad reads, "I have four original and signed drawings by Kurt Cobain . Various sizes, mostly Fender guitar-related subject matter. These were done when Kurt was in high school in the 1980s. Quite rare and unusual."

According to England's NME, My Chemical Romance are down another man. Guitarist Frank Iero has reportedly dropped out of the band's world tour following Sunday's show in Newcastle, England, due to an undisclosed family member's illness. He will be temporarily replaced by guitar tech Matt Cortez , who previously stood in for bassist Mikey Way when he went on a six-month hiatus from the group earlier this year. The news comes less than a week after drummer Bob Bryar explained his absence from the band's recent shows due to a persistent wrist injury. The sidelining of Iero leaves the band with just three permanent members taking the stage each night.
BBC News reports that a LED ZEPPELIN fan has paid £83,000 (approximately $170,000) for two tickets to the rock band's reunion concert, as part of an auction for the BBC 's Children in Need . With her husband in jail, accused of trying to obstruct an investigation, the last thing Amy Winehouse needed was to have fans turn their backs on her. But according to BBC News, that's exactly what happened on Wednesday night, when the troubled singer played her first gig since husband Blake Fielder-Civil 's arrest last week. Throughout Winehouse's show in Birmingham, England, the singer was reportedly crying and "streams" of people walked out before the end. At one point during the show, she warned the boo birds, "To them people booing, wait 'til my husband gets out of incarceration. And I mean that." She later dedicated the song "Wake Up Alone" to Fielder-Civil, and while performing an encore cover of the Zutons ' "Valerie," she reportedly stopped singing, dropped the mic and walked off stage.

Despite being one of the longest books in the series, "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" was one of its shortest films so does that mean there was a lot of material left on the cutting-room floor? You can bet your wand on it. "We were just keeping a slightly cleaner line," director David Yates said. "There were so many moving parts; that's the danger of the book compared to the film. One of the things that people, even non-'Potter' fans, love is the clarity of the films. They feel like they got it. So in removing some things, which we all love, we allow a whole new audience in." As well as an audience hungry to find those deleted bits on the DVD. And find they shall: Nine of Yates' "moving parts" comprise 17 minutes of never-before-released footage on the collection, which hit stores in the U.K. earlier this week and comes out in the U.S. December 11.
Legendary playwright and novelist Ira Levin has died. He was 78. The writer who saw many of his works turned into major Hollywood movies died of natural causes on Monday at his home in New York. Levin is most famous for writing the novel Rosemary's Baby , which was made into the 1968 film of the same name, directed by Roman Polanski . He will also be remembered for writing The Stepford Wives first adapted for the big screen in 1975 and then remade again in 2004 in a version which starred Nicole Kidman . Levin wrote on a variety of genres throughout his career and sold millions of books worldwide, despite only producing seven novels in 40 years; he also penned the hit Broadway play Deathtrap , later made into a movie starring Michael Caine and Christopher Reeve . He leaves behind three sons, Adam, Jared and Nicholas, by his first wife Gabrielle Aronsohn, who he divorced in 1968. He divorced second wife, Phyllis Finkel, in 1981

The sci-fi website IESB.net has published what it claims are script details of the forthcoming Star Trek sequel that explain how the old Spock, played by Leonard Nimoy and the new Spock, played by Zachary Quinto meet. The lengthy article, attributed to two unnamed sources and plastered with spoiler notices, also indicates that the movie is based on an original Star Trek episode that originally aired on April 6, 1967 in which the crew of the Enterprise discovers a portal through space and time. VR Worlds 2 Helps Drug Addicts Kick The Habit Facing temptations in VR Worlds 2 could help addicts curb real-life cravings. Far removed from traditional rehab centers exists a virtual world filled with drugs, alcohol and prostitutes kind of like "The Sims" on crack. Strangely enough, it was created to battle drug addiction. Duke University professor Dr. Zach Rosenthal has proposed a way to safely test temptation in crack addicts with VR Worlds 2, a digital program that is part of a new drug study in which therapists create virtual worlds to fit each addict's level of addiction. Different settings include a motel room, a middle-class suburban home and an alleyway. Therapists can also drag and drop the addict's favorite brand of booze, or add avatars representing prostitutes and fellow drug users anything that will spark a craving. During the 12-week treatment, which is coupled with group therapy and one-on-one counseling, the therapist guides an addict through the program of temptation with a joystick and virtual-reality goggles. People, places and things are slowly added until the subject experiences an increased level of craving. Once the addict is exposed to enough drug-related cues, the craving level decreases. At that point, the therapist repeatedly plays a unique tone. When the addict is in a real-life, high-risk situation, he or she can call a special number on a cell phone provided by the clinic and hear the tone that was played as the craving tapered during treatment, helping to stop the feeling before it starts. "This is Pavlov's dogs gone technological," Rosenthal told MTV News. And Rosenthal's experiment could prove to be just as effective. Because the project is in the early stages, there are no solid results yet but patients have rated the virtual world as highly realistic and said that the cell-phone tones are reducing cravings. "When I have a craving and I hear the tone, I think to myself, 'I do not have to do this,' " a 52-year-old former crack addict who participated in the study (and wished to remain anonymous) told MTV News. He said he has been clean for nine months. VR isn't a new idea in the medical community doctors have also used it to treat soldiers with post-traumatic stress disorder and critics may argue that bringing addicts into the virtual world will illicit cravings in the real world. Unlike VR Worlds 2, traditional drug treatment teaches users to stay away from people, places and things that lead to temptation something that Rosenthal says isn't realistic. "This is a safe and systematic way of teaching people to confront this stuff," he said. "Crack addicts have lots of associations to things. They can't avoid bus stations and parks, for example. This is a study designed to make good treatment (e.g. group therapy) better." Although Rosenthal doesn't see this program hitting retail shelves anytime soon, he does hope to develop more virtual worlds aimed at helping adolescents and young adults deal with prescription drug, marijuana and alcohol addictions. "This isn't about playing a video game," he said, "this is about giving people a tool to help them through their darkest moments."11.13.2007

Robin Thicke has canceled all the dates on an upcoming U.S. tour on doctor's orders. According to a note posted on the soul singer's Web site over the weekend, Thicke will have to reschedule the dates "due to doctor-ordered vocal rest until the end of the year." He had been scheduled to start the 14-date tour Sunday in Englewood, Colorado, and play clubs and theaters through a December 13 date in Long Beach, California.

A couple weeks of reshoots in Vancouver may be the cause of the film's release date push, according to Filmjerk . The added scenes are likely an attempt to spice up some supernatural sequences, but directors David Moreau and Xavier Palud won't be involved. Instead, Patrick Lussierill take the helm. Game developer Tim Shafer may have to turn in his cult status soon. He earned his reputation as one of the main creators behind beloved LucasArts adventure games such as " The Secret of Monkey Island " and " Grim Fandango ." As the lead creator of the 2005 action game " Psychonauts ," he reinforced the claim, producing a game that won raves for humor, gameplay and visual design, but sold few copies. Now he may be onto something big without selling out. The most recent issue of Game Informer magazine announced that Shafer is working with Jack Black on a 2008 Xbox 360 and PS3 game called " Brütal Legend ," which features a heavy-metal roadie name Eddie Riggs who fights demons by hacking them up with his ax/guitar. Black will do voice work for Riggs. Lemmy from Motörhead, Rob Halford from Judas Priest and Ronnie James Dio are also expected to provide their voices. MTV.com reports: Police have arrested a former personal assistant to ex- RAMONES manager Linda Stein , who was found beaten to death in her apartment late last month, and the assistant has made statements implicating herself in the killing, according to multiple reports. The arrest was made Friday morning (November 9), less than two weeks after the alleged murder, which occurred October 30 at Stein's Fifth Avenue apartment.

The Pulse of Radio reports: Despite stories spreading on horror movie news sites across the Web, Rob Zombie is not directing a remake of the '80s horror B-movie classic "C.H.U.D." An article at Billboard.com reported on Tuesday (November 6) that Zombie was tentatively set to helm the project for a 2009 release, but a spokesperson for his management confirmed to The Pulse of Radio exclusively that the unsourced information was "not true." "C.H.U.D." , a low-budget 1984 shocker about mutated vagrants (Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dwellers, to be exact) living under the streets of New York, has been the subject of remake speculation.

Country Music Hall of Fame inductee Hank Thompson died of lung cancer on Tuesday, days after he canceled his tour, AP reports. October 8 which turned out to be the day of his last show had been declared "Hank Thompson Day" by Texas Governor Rick Perry and Waco Mayor Virginia DuPuy. Thompson was 82.

The post said, "Lately, there have been songs leaked onto YouTube labeled as ' SCARS ON BROADWAY demos.'We want to make it clear that this music is from a disbanded project from four years ago, and is in no way affiliated with SCARS ON BROADWAY . Any music that will be leaked or released from SCARS , will be done so directly to our fans through our official websites." SCARS ON BROADWAY has been in the studio working on its debut album, which is likely to surface sometime in early 2008.
LED ZEPPELIN tour rumors continue to circulate. The latest speculation comes after Jimmy Page hinted he would consider additional reunion shows. ZEPPELIN is set to play a one-off reunion in London on December 10. The date was just pushed back after Page broke his finger. Now Yahoo! Music is reporting that Page said, "At the moment, I'm told we're doing one gig. That's a bit unfortunate for all the people that would have liked to have seen us, but I can understand why some of the other members don't want to be touring."

Its so fun to play at rehearsal and Live I get to take a breath, step back and jump around stage just playing guitar! It will also give the listener on CD as well as live something different to hear and see and keep things fresh. "ON SUNDAY" This song will definitely be the most controversial of the album. Anytime you bring politics and religion into question, you are sure to raise a few brows and piss some people off, which is exactly why I love this track! Were not trying to take a holier than thou soapbox stance, its more about seeking your own answers to your own questions. Everyone has something they are looking for and I am in no way an example to follow, but I do think when u see things, especially politics, look at it with a little more of a realistic perspective, question those in power, we have every right and we should express it. Its our world we live in, time to take the power back. Musically it pounds from beginning to end. "POISON HEART" Emotional, dark, heavy track, huge chorus with a haunting string intro that takes you through the course of a Turbulent relationship. This was an Emotionally abusive relationship with cause for alarm every time you turn around for anything and everything under the sun. Your significant others failure to be happy with themselves and exhausting measure to make you feel as horrible as them and their poisoned heart has torn you apart. The blaming is draining, in darkness youll fall, but at this moment, its better than feeling like nothing at all. "SHOUT" One of the best Tears For Fears songs ever! The chorus is so big its unreal! Someone emailed me saying "didnt you know DISTURBED covered this song?" Sadly I had to respond with, "well I dont really listen to DISTURBED enough to know that they did." I'm super proud of our version and the programming in the track. When the guys threw out the idea of covering "SHOUT" I freaked out! Tears For Fears Vocalist Roland Orzabal and I have the same vocal range so replicating the original vocal itself and taking it a step further was not a task at all and in fact, it was one of the most enjoyable times Ive had in recording and I feel the song translated over very well, doing it our way, our style. "HUSH" The biggest piece of me was left in this song, a part of my life and I needed it apparent. The static at the opening of the track signified my soul having lost its signal. Most of the vocal tracks were done in a couple takes. I wanted every bit of this song to be felt by the listener. I was a couple days away from heading out to California to record and Keith texted me saying he wanted me to write an acoustic track that was Dark, sensitive and emotional. I love challenges and Molding it into our style was going to be the best part by trying to stay away from the traditional stock sounds and basic song structure, while not alienating you from the emotion. So I lit the candles, grabbed my acoustic and let it flow and what became of it was one of the best songs I think Ive ever written. I lyrically dug into my soul, searched every gap and even ended up very sad during the course of tracking the song. On the last chorus I was so into the moment and vibe I did it in one take! I had felt that feeling of lost love and felt the need for the apology to really be heartfelt and the most sincere thing I had in me at that moment. I needed that certain someone on the other end to truly feel me and to "Hush those lips and forgive me, because I cant breathe with you" "WHERE THE RAIN NEVER STOPS" Great DEPECHE MODE style drum groove intro! A sleek mix of heavy, dark and melodic. Even now that the record is done I still listen to this song once a day. The Chorus and guitar riff in the chorus are completely addicting for me and I just cant get enough, it reminds me of ORGY with the super distorted electronic sounding guitars and keys over the hook. I long to be where the sun never burns and the rain never stops, then and there I can feel safe, secure and hidden in the rain from the cruel prying eye we live under. We all have secrets we want to keep. "RELEASE" Such a final sounding song, the perfect closing track and ending paragraph to Chapter One. Its about that hole in your heart; that void in you that no matter what you just cant seem to fill Cant eat, sleep, think and wont be content until you can fill that deep hole inside of you. According to comments in Entertainment Weekly , creator Tim Kring agrees with some critics that the show's hit a sophomore slump. "We assumed the audience wanted season 1 a buildup of intrigue about these characters and the discovery of their powers," Kring said. "We taught [them] to expect a certain kind of storytelling. They wanted adrenaline. We made a mistake ... We took too long to get to the big-picture story." He also admitted that Hiro was in the past too long and that Claire and West's romance wasn't "a natural fit" for the show.

Jonathan Davis fans will be in for a surprise when they check out the Korn frontman's upcoming solo tour: He'll already have a concert CD/DVD package available for purchase, if everything goes according to plan. Billboard.com reports that Davis will film a small show for friends, family and the press on November 8 the day before the tour kicks off in Hartford, Connecticut and transform it into a limited-edition package that will be available, at least initially, only on his tour. The DVD will chronicle bandmember tryouts, rehearsals leading up to the recording and more.

Da Brat was reportedly involved in a serious physical altercation early Thursday morning at Jermaine Dupri 's Atlanta nightclub, Studio 72. According to WSB-TV in Atlanta, police arrested Da Brat (real name: Shawntae Harris) on felony aggravated-assault charges after she got into a heated confrontation with a waitress. Da Brat is said to have struck the waitress in the face with a bottle of rum, causing cuts on her face. The waitress was taken to a local hospital for treatment; Da Brat is being held at DeKalb County jail, according to WSB. Spokespeople for Da Brat and her longtime mentor Dupri had not responded to MTV News' requests for comment at press time.

Nintendo Takes the Lead in the Video-Game Console Software Market
Nintendo displaced Sony Corp. as the leader in the video-game console software market in the third quarter of 2007 as it introduced a flood of new titles for both its Wii video-game console and its portable DS system, according to iSuppli Corp. Worldwide revenue for Nintendo DS and Wii gaming software amounted to $1.2 billion in the third quarter, up 31.4 percent from $943.6 million in the second quarter and more than double the $611 million from the third quarter of 2006. In comparison, Sony Corp. in the third quarter generated $1 billion in gaming software revenue for its PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2 and PSP players. Microsoft Corp. posted revenue of $317.8 million for Xbox and Xbox 360 software. In the second quarter, Sony generated $1 billion in gaming software revenue for its gaming platforms, while Microsoft was at $271.9 million. “Nintendo is likely to maintain its lead in this area, as it expects by the end of 2007 to ship about 200 additional titles, adding to the more than 150 games already released, many from outside publishers,” predicted David Carnevale, vice president of multimedia content and distribution at iSuppli. “Company software sales should be further boosted by the addition of a new flagship title for the Wii, dubbed Wii Fit, which encourages players to engage in full-body exercises using Wii Balance Boards, performing activities including yoga, push-ups, aerobics and stretching.” Wii software revenue is expected to rise to $1.1 billion worldwide by the fourth quarter of 2008, managing a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 29.6 percent from $66 million in the first quarter of 2006. For those expecting the Nintendo DS to go away anytime soon, the portable gaming device will keep on ticking, with its software revenue reaching $1.2 billion by the fourth quarter of 2008, rising at a CAGR of 12.6 percent from $333.2 million in the first quarter of 2006. The company is pursuing a strategy of enlarging the market for its software with plans to target casual gamers. Other games that will further expand the Wii’s appeal include Mario Kart Wii and the upcoming Super Mario Galaxy. The attached figure presents iSuppli’s historical estimate and forecast for Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS software revenue for the period from the first quarter of 2006 through the fourth quarter of 2008.

Rikk Scholvinck was reportedly with his bodyguard at the time of the incident, and although neither was struck by gunfire, one of the band's fans was robbed at gunpoint. According to Scholvinck, after the gig, a van appeared next to Lordi's bus, and four or five teens jumped out. "One of the men with a gun took a fan, a girl, put the gun to her head and forced her to lie down on the ground," said band frontman Mr. Lordi (real name: Tomi Putaansuu), according to the site. "Also, one of the boys froze on the spot while the others fled away, including Rikk and the bodyguard, while another man started shooting at them. Luckily, he missed and no one was hurt. Rikk ran to the bar and called the police, who arrived soon. In a moment we were surrounded by like five police cars, but the guys managed to escape. They were a group of drug addicts that had stolen the [van] earlier that night, and police were already looking for them but have still not managed to catch them." Lordi handed the assaulted fan a lifetime all-access pass to their shows worldwide.
Yelling "just kill me now" and falling over onto the ground, Vincent "Don Vito" Margera could not contain himself on Wednesday (October 31) when a jury delivered a split verdict of guilty on two counts of sexual assault on a child. The 51-year-old uncle of "Viva La Bam" star Bam Margera, who was acquitted of a third count, received the news after the jury in the case had deliberated for less than a day.

The Pulse of Radio reports: Reclusive NIRVANA bassist Krist Novoselic told NME.com that he's looking forward to the DVD premiere of the band's "MTV Unplugged in New York" performance, 14 years after it was first filmed and recorded. The disc will feature both the original broadcast and the complete, unedited show, newly remixed in 5.1 digital surround sound. Novoselic said, "The new 5.1 sound really opens it up and it gave me a new appreciation for the songs. You can hear what each instrument is doing. It really invites you in and I'm sure everyone will enjoy it in a new way. I'd really like to re-release ( NIRVANA 's 1993 album) 'In Utero' in that way at some point." The full, unedited version runs 66 minutes. The DVD will also feature four songs from the band's sound check, previously unavailable behind-the-scenes footage and a 20-minute documentary.

A party held before an Ozzy Osbourne concert on Monday (October 29th) in Fargo, North Dakota turned out to be a sting operation cleverly organized by the local sheriff. According to the West Central Tribune , approximately 40 people showed up for what was advertised as an "invitation-only" party at a club prior to Osbourne's show at the Fargodome. But deputies crashed the bogus blowout and arrested partygoers on charges ranging from outstanding fines to neglected child support payments. Fargo Sheriff Paul D. Laney said, " Some actually thought it was pretty funny, " but added that others got angry: " I think they were upset with themselves for being had.
New York City's favorite sister act The Pierces will appear on the December 5th episode of the hit CW TV show GOSSIP GIRLS playing two of their songs "Secret" and "Three Wishes." GOSSIP GIRLS is the #1 new show on TV with teens and is currently the #1 most downloaded show at iTunes . : The Rise of the Lycans
The film traces the origins of the centuries-old blood feud between the aristocratic vampires known as "Death Dealers" and their onetime slaves, the Lycans. In the Dark Ages, a young Lycan named Lucian emerges as a powerful leader who rallies the werewolves to rise up against Viktor, the cruel vampire king who has enslaved them. Lucian is joined by his secret lover, Sonja, in his battle against the Death Dealer army and his struggle for Lycan freedom. The film has been given the subtitle "The Rise of the Lycans" to coincide with the storyline being told through the eyes of the Lycans. Director Len Wiseman will only serve as Producer and expect actors Michael Sheen (Lucian) and Bill Nighy (Viktor) to return. The release date is sometime in 2009.
