Unbreakable 2 Story to be Used for Third Night Chronicles
With Devil, the first film in M. Night Shyamalan's "Night Chronicles," hitting theaters on September 17, the filmmaker revealed to MTV that we'll see the story he was going to use for Unbreakable 2 in the third movie in the film series."I cannibalized the idea for the sequel to 'Unbreakable' for one of the 'Night Chronicles,'" revealed Shyamalan. "It was such a cool idea for a villain, and it was actually originally in the script for 'Unbreakable,' and it was too much. There were too many villains, so I pulled this villain out and was like, 'I'll make this the second flick.'"Instead, Shyamalan used the villain and story for the film that will come after Twelve Strangers, which is expected to be the second movie in the "Night Chronicles."

CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER
Director Joe Johnston tells Ed Gross there will be some links to the other Marvel films. "Since 'Captain America' is a period picture taking place in the 40's, there are fewer opportunities for contemporary links to the rest of the Marvel universe. We can, however, create events in our story that will be paid off in 'Avengers' and other Marvel pictures." Meanwhile, Comic Cooper tells Herald Scottland (via Comic Book Movie ) movies like "Captain America" are starting to make him spoiled for bigger budget films ... well, somewhat spoiled, anways. "It's amazing being around such professionals, such a finely oiled operation," he says. "You spend all this time going, 'God, I can't do another one of these independent films where I'm carrying the camera myself across a river to make the shot. I want to do big budget.' Then suddenly you are on a big-budget movie and you miss the guerilla filming of doing an independent."
THE SANDMAN
After wandering sightless in the development wilderness for nigh-on twenty years, Neil Gaiman's "The Sandman" is finally coming to television. As we reported yesterday here at CBR , Warner Bros Television is taking steps to clear the rights to the property and is looking to "Supernatural" creator Eric Kripke to develop the series. I remember when a script leaked to the Internet which began with Dream shouting, "As though your puny weapons could harm Morpheus! The lord of sleep! The Sandman!" There was always a feeling amongst fans of the series that it would be better suited for long form television than a motion picture franchise. It seems someone at Warner Bros agreed.
