NR: How has the tour been going so far?
Jake: The tour has been really, really good. The last day on the tour is tomorrow. I'm super sad about that. The tour has been great and everyone is amazing. Everybody on the tour has been amazing from Emanuel, Keating, 30 Seconds to Mars and The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. They are all phenomenal bands.
NR: Does everyone get along on the tour right now? No drama?
Jake: Everyone is getting along. We made a lot of new friends on this tour. Which is amazing.
NR: The new CD, Nightmare Anatomy, is constructed quite well. Are you guys self taught or did you get lessons.
Jake: We all kind of grew up with different backgrounds. Me personally, I've been playing drums, playing jazz almost my whole life. I went through high school playing jazz. I took some lessons but for the most part we are all self taught.
NR: You guys have some loyal fans. Have you ever been scared?
Jake: Scared of...
NR: Of a stalker type situation.
Jake: No not at all. It's very flattering. It's a trip man, honestly. It's crazy to have people like that. It's really flattering. I want to say thank you to everybody.
NR: Your web site is www.Aiden.org Was that a clever idea or did someone buy the .com?
Jake: We couldn't get the .com because it was already taken by another aiden or something like that. So we got the .org.
NR: That's a really cool idea.
We're into it.
NR: To be an Indie band and a lot of your fans are basically underground and they don't want you to go on MTV. Do you think getting on MTV is selling out or just the next step?
Jake: I think that people have a really fucked up idea of what selling out is. I think that because a band has success or get's on MTV or Fuse I don't think that is in anyway selling out. I think it's the next step. For anyone to say 'no i'm not going to be on MTV', I think that's a bold face lie. It's just another step for your band. It helps to get your music out to more people and to gain more fans.
NR: Through the internet a lot of kids download music. Do you think that it's right for the music industry to be trying to stop downloading music?
Jake: No. Honestly, I can speak for everyone in the band, go download our record and burn it 1000 times for everyone of your friends. It doesn't matter. No matter what they do people are still going to download. It's an easy way to get your music out to people. Which is all we really care about. Download that shit. For sure we don't care.
NR: Will loves to swing the mic. A fan that seen you on the tour wants to know has he hit any of you with the mic?
Jake: He's hit everyone, except for me, a couple of times. I'm safe being way back there. Everyone else in the band he has hit really damn good.
NR: Anyone in the crowd?
Jake: Not yet. At least I don't think so. We hope not because that would really suck.
NR: You guys have a dark image that publications are putting out. Was it for theatrics or is it basically who you are?
Jake: We just decided to wear some make-up. So we do. If people are not into that's cool. It's what we do. It's not for everyone.
NR: A fan also wanted to know, what is with the Brave heart thing?
Jake: It was a weird thing actually. We were playing a show one time and Will thought 'hey, lets make a ten foot gap in the middle of the room' and it went over really well. The fans seem to really enjoy it and we definitely enjoy watching it. It's a fun thing to do for the audience.
NR: Has there been any pranks played on each other yet?
Jake: Not yet but I think tomorrow is going to be pretty bad. I think there has been some playing going on for sure.
NR: Would you guys say it is better to listen to the CD first or to see you live?
Jake: I think come and see us live. Think what you will. You should definitely come to the live show. It's what we love to do the most.
NR: It was one amazing show.
Jake: Thank you. That means a lot.
NR: Myspace.com has become a major tool in the music industry. Do you think it's a great tool or is it just the latest fad?
Jake: I think it is one of the best promotional tools out. No doubt. For bands that don't have a record out or don't have the means to put one out can throw a couple of songs on my space and get it out to the world. It's amazing. My space is absolutely incredible.
NR: You're getting ready to go out on the road with H.I.M. What should fans expect from you guys?
Jake: They can expect to be shredded every single night. To be shredded to pieces.
