NR: You have gone from Jive to Koch and now onto Suburban Noize Records. Do you feel more comfortable with Suburban Noize Records?

M.C.U.D.: Yeah, it's a good team, good management and a good label. They let you do what you want to do creatively. They help you make money to put food on the table.

NR: Would you guys ever sign to a major label again, if given the opportunity?

M.C.U.D.: If it involved Suburban Noize then we would.
NR: Like a partnership?
M.C.U.D.: Yeah.

NR: "Back To Base X" was not recorded on a big budget like some of your previous albums. How did you like recording on a smaller budget?

M.C.U.D.: We don't think about that. It seems better than the big budgets. I'm just recording it at my pad. So it seems like a better experience. It's less money...
NR: It has an organic feel to it.
M.C.U.D.: It's just better.

NR: "Only In Amerika" had content protection on it. Did you guys have anything to do with that or was it all done by the label?

M.C.U.D.: The label did it. Yeah they had some crazy thing on there.

NR: On June 6, 2006, Jive Records released a "Best of Hed P.E." CD on the same day Suburban Noize released your newest CD "Back to Base X." Did you have any idea that Jive was going to release that?

M.C.U.D.: None what so ever. They didn't even tell us or let me know that it was coming out. They just put it out. Which tells you right there how lame it is. How lame is that?

NR: You have an aggressive opinion about the music industry. Do you think that people look down on you for being vocal about your opinions?

M.C.U.D.: I don't know. I guess you would have to ask the people. I haven't heard about it.
NR: So it's nothing but great responses to you guys now?
M.C.U.D.: Well I wouldn't say that. You take the good with the bad. Not everyone is going to love us or anything.

NR: When a critic writes a bad review do you take it to heart?

M.C.U.D.: No I absolutely do not. It's just one persons opinion. It's no more high power than anyone elses.

NR: Do you think people who download illegal music should be taken to court?

M.C.U.D.: No, absolutely not.

NR: What can the U.K. fans expect with your upcoming tour in November?

M.C.U.D.: You know our live show is always on point. They can expect at least 90 to 100 minutes of all of our music over the 10 years we have been out.

NR: After the U.K. run with OPM what is next for you guys?

M.C.U.D.: We have a short tour with Slightly Stoopid and Pepper. Then we are going to do our own headling club tour in spring of '07. Then we are going to start working on a new album.
