In Victory's Wake

In Victory's Wake

NR: How did you guys come together?

Matt: Brandon you can field that one.
Brandon: It's been a very long drawn out process. I knew Matt. Matt joined the band that we were in a long time ago. I kind of started it. It was Age of a Dream. Then we went through numerous, numerous members...
Matt: Like 15 people! We went through a soccer team.
Brandon: ...and we just basically tried out people. We ended up getting this guy, this guy and the other guys.
Brandon: Make sure you print that Sunny had to take his boss to the airport.

NR: How would you describe the sound of this band?

Matt: Put three cats in a garbage can. Fill that shit with milk, and then you light it on fire!
Brandon: But if it hella rocked! And it would have to be flammable milk, though. Nah we're just a rock band. Nothing core. Fuck the names.
Moonie: Come watch us play and make your own decision.

NR: Where does this band differ from the other band?

Brandon: We're good!
Matt: We don't try to have an image.
Brandon: We don't do the whole you have to relate fashion with music.
Matt: I'm the only person who wears blue jean shorts still.
Brandon: Kenny!
NR: Laughs! Son of a Bitch!
Matt: Kenny wore them today.
Brandon: We don't do what everyone thinks is suppose to be done. It happens all the time. Thursday comes out and everyone sounds like Thursday. The Mars-Volta comes out and everyone sounds like The Mars-Volta. Now Circa Survive's out and now I noticed everyone says they sound like them. We sound like us.
Moonie: We've been a band for two months. We write our music.

NR: Does it kick ass or does it suck to be a musician in the Las Vegas music scene?

Brandon: A little bit of both.
Tyler: A little bit of both.
Moonie: It's kick ass being a musician. But not in Las Vegas.
Matt: It sucks being flooded in with the worst musician's in the world. They all decide to start bands and play the Cheyenne every weekend.
Moonie: The worst venues in the world to, mind you.
Brandon: Every venue we get just fades away.

NR: What's your thoughts on the local scene up here?

Matt: Done. It's over with.
