NR: How did you come to sign with Suburban Noize Records?

1Ton: Kottonmouth Kings came up to Humbolt and we did some shows together about 3 years ago. It was about us being from Humbolt. We've been doing shows every since. We did some stuff together and about 3-4 months ago we made it official.

NR: You basically handle everything with your prior releases on your label Lost Koast Productions. Is that a difficult thing to do as an underground artist?

1Ton: If you really want to do it that's all there is to it. We really wanted to do it. We had to get our music out there. So anything we had to do, as hard as we had to do it, we had to work for it. Anything you want to do in life involves hard work.
Underrated: Just think about what you want to do and just do it.

NR: Recently you were on the road with Twiztid. How was the response?

1Ton: Juggalo's showed us a lot of love. We were really just starting to learn about the culture. Tech N9ne showed us. Twiztid really embraced us and took us out and showed us about the whole juggalo culture. It's a wonderful thing that they embraced us and loved our music.

NR: What advice do you have for new artists trying to make it?

Underrated: Work hard. If you want to do it and love it you will find a way to get there.

NR: For people who have not heard Potluck yet what can people expect to hear from your music?

Underrated: Real life situations. It's not really super mainstream and it's not really super underground. It's a little bit of both. We like every kind of hip-hop there is.
1Ton: Look at our record. Where else are you going to be able to find Twiztid, E-40, Charlie from Jurassic 5, Kottonmouth Kings, and The Loonies all on one CD. We rap about our lives and do music that we like.

NR: You have worked with some big underground hip-hop stars from Tech N9ne to E-40. How did these collaborations happen?

1Ton: We met E-40 through a friend in Portland who introduced me to Bosco and he had produced E-40 and he got us hooked up with E-40. Tech N9ne we met doing shows together in Portland. Next thing you know we did tour national tours with him. He's my people now.

NR: Most people are afraid to give out free downloads. How do you feel about this?

1Ton: Good music sells. Someone will download it and then play it for a friend then that friend will go out and buy the CD. Good music definitely sells.

NR: What can fans expect from your upcoming release, "Straight Outta Humboldt?"

1Ton: It's on the next level. We have so many people on the album that are amazing.
Underrated: The production to the mixing... It's just going to be on the next level.

NR: What is next for you guys?

1Ton: This next CD. This is the first CD with national distribution. We would go to certain markets and we would perform and then not be able to find a single CD in stores. Now everyone will be able to go out to their local Best Buy and places like that and be able to pick up the CD.
